Determine and purchase the correct type of oil required by your snow blower engine. This is specific to your snow blower and can be found in the owner's manual or at the manufacturer's website.
-
2
Locate the oil drain. The oil is typically a small pipe that comes out the back of the engine. It will have a nut/plug that can be unscrewed.
-
-
3
Put blocks underneath the front of the blower to tilt it back. This will help to quickly drain the oil.
-
4
Put a bucket/tub to catch the oil. Remove the nut and let the oil drain out. This may take several minutes.
-
5
Pour the used oil into an old pint tub such as the type that comes with cottage cheese. Pour the new oil into another pint tub to about the same level. This will make sure you do not overfill the snow blower engine with oil.
-
6
Screw the oil drain nut back on. You should take care to not over-tighten it.
-
7
Pour the new oil into the snow blower engine using a funnel. Check the level of the oil with your dipstick and top off as needed.
-
8
Finally you should start the snow blower to make sure that there are no oil leaks.
