How to Find Out which Bank owns a house
Currently many homes listed for sale are actually owned by banks. When you know which bank owns a home it is possible that you can negotiate a purchase with them directly. This is how you can find out which bank owns the particular house you are interested in.

Ask the listing agent of the home which bank the property belongs to. Most of the time they will tell you right away but sometimes they want to keep their client anonymous.

Search for the property in public tax records or deed records. Chances are the bank is the one paying the taxes. Sometimes you can also find the foreclosure record that shows which bank took possession of the home.

Find bank REO property sites and search for the address. Do this only if step 1 and step 2 do not work. You can find REO lists for most of the major banks online.
