      Prep the work area by laying down plastic tarps to catch the wallpaper and protect the floor from the chemical wallpaper stripper. If necessary, follow manufacturer's directions to mix the chemical wallpaper stripper in the spray bottle.

      Using the tiger tool, score the wallpaper to allow the chemical stripper to reach the adhesive backing. Move the tool all over the wall in a circular pattern. Remember, the more holes you make in the paper, the easier it will be for the chemical stripper to penetrate the paper.

      According to the manufacturer's directions, spray the wall with the chemical wallpaper stripper. Spray from the top to the bottom of the wall, doing your best to get a steady stream and an even distribution. You may also use gloves and sponge the chemical stripper onto the wallpapered wall for better distribution.
