Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the napkin. Lay it on a flat surface so the inside is facing up. Lightly spray the napkin with starch and iron it so that it is wrinkle-free and lies completely flat. Fold the napkin in half downward, so that the edges are closest to you. Press the napkin with the iron, especially the crease.

    • 2

Fold the napkin. Fold it in half once more so that you end up with one small square napkin with four layers. Use the iron to lightly press the napkin and the folds.

    • 3

Roll the first layer. Roll the top layer of the napkin down diagonally halfway. Use the iron to lightly press the flap flat. Roll the second layer of the napkin down so it rests right above the first layer and then iron this layer down as well. Repeat with the third layer.

    • 4

Complete the fold. Turn the napkin over, with the folds against the table and pointing down toward you, and fold the right side of the napkin a third of the way over. Use the iron to press the flap down. Do the same on the right side.

    • 5

Insert the silverware. Turn the folded napkin over and place it on or next to the plate. Insert the silverware into the pocket in the napkin arrangement.
