1
Place the blinds in the "Down" position and open up the slats. This will allow for easier cleaning of both sides of each slat.
-
2
Fill a bucket with warm water and a few squirts of mild dish soap. Fill a second bucket with plain water. Place a piece of plastic or a garbage bag on the floor underneath the blinds to protect the floor from water.

3
Dip a rag in the bucket of soapy water and wring it out well. Hold the rag between your thumb and forefinger and run it along each individual slat on the faux wood blinds. Go over each slat as many times as necessary with the soapy water until it is cleaned to your satisfaction.
-
4
Wipe down each slat with a rag dipped in the plain water. This will remove any soap residue and dirt left on the blinds. Go over each slat with a dry cloth.

5
Clean the blinds in the bathtub for an alternative cleaning method. This method is best if the blinds are extremely dirty or discolored from stains. Place a towel in the bottom of the bathtub to prevent scratching. Place the faux wood blinds in the tub in the extended position with the slats partially opened. Fill the tub with warm water to cover the blinds. Add a few squirts of mild dish soap to the water. Allow the blinds to soak for about five minutes then clean each slat of the blind using the same method as described above. Drain the water once the blinds are clean, rinse them with the shower head and lay them on a towel to dry.

Sprinkle a dab of baking soda into the bucket or bathtub for a stronger cleaning solution.
Place an old sock over your hand and use this to clean the slats of the blinds rather than a rag.
