How to Connect an HP TouchSmart Computer With a DirecTV Receiver

The HP (Hewlett Packard) TouchSmart Computer is any entertainment lovers dream. Not only can it perform the standard operations of your everyday computer, but it has a special interface that allows you to watch HD movies and television, and you don't even need your mouse. Because the entire monitor is a touch screen you can navigate through the computer with a few flicks of your finger on the screen.

Things You'll Need

• DirecTV receiver
• HDMI Cable
• HP TouchSmart Computer

Instructions

1. Plug the cable running from the DirecTV satellite dish into the "In" port on the rear of the DirecTV receiver.

2. Connect an HDMI cable into the read of the DirecTV receiver if it is an HD receiver. If not, connect RCA cables into the "Out" port of the receiver.

3. Connect the HDMI cables onto the side of the HP TouchSmart Computer. There is a single HDMI port available for HD viewing. If you are using RCA cables connect these into the RCA ports that are next to the HDMI port.

4. Power on the computer and the DirecTV receiver and you can being watching satellite television over your computer. To change the station of the satellite you need to use the DirecTV remote.
