Tips & Warnings
Oiling or polishing a soapstone countertop is meant to enhance its appearance. Daily use of the countertop will cause oily areas to develop on the surface from contact with human skin, or foods or substances that come into contact with the counter. However, each coating of oil will serve to make the soapstone appear darker due to oxidation.
