1
Cut the old drain with a hacksaw blade to remove the majority of the old floor drain. With the majority of the drain removed, use a screwdriver or any tool that can provide leverage and pry the remainder of the drain loose and remove it from its place. Remove the old rubber washer from its place.
-
2
Set the new rubber washer into the drain hole. Place the new drain into the hole in the tub or shower and slide it into the rubber washer. Screw the pieces in place--make sure not to over-tighten.

3
Test fit the drain to make sure it fits properly. Slip the swivel connector into the P-trap of the piping system. Slide the female end of the P-trap onto the drain pipe and attach the swivel nut of the P-trap onto the 90-degree elbow of the piping. If each of the pieces properly, remove them and prepare the pieces for the gluing process.

4
Glue all of the above pieces together in the same way that you fit them. Install the completed piece into the swivel connector of the drain, again making sure that you do not over-tighten the pieces. Once you have finished connecting the pieces, check the final product for leaks.
