How to Find the Serial Number On Your MacBook Pro
If you must call Apple Tech Support with an issue regarding your MacBook Pro, the first thing you will need to know is your serial number. The serial number will let the tech know if your computer is under AppleCare, Apple's extended warranty program, and will also clue the tech into any other issues that may be known to your model. If you don't have your original packaging or invoice on hand, find your serial number simply by looking on the "About This Mac" window, the Mac OS X hardware pane or, depending upon your model, the bottom of your MacBook Pro.
Instructions
-
In Mac OS X
-
1
Boot up your MacBook Pro.
-
2
Click the "Apple" icon on the top left of your desktop.

3
Click "About This Mac" in the drop-down menu. From this menu are two ways you can find your serial number. The first is by clicking twice on the grayed-out "Version" text directly under "Mac OS X" -- you will see your serial number right there, as the text changes with each click.
-

Your second option on the "About This Mac" window is to click the "More Info" button below the processor and memory stats.
-
5
Click the arrow next to "Hardware" in the "Contents" pane on the left. Read the "Hardware Overview" pane on the right. Scroll down toward the bottom of the list to view your serial number.
