Instructions

    • 1

Decide how wide you would like the bow to be overall. Take this measurements and mark it on a piece of cardboard. Measure out your tulle accordingly. If you want a bow with an 8-inch width then you will likely need 3 yards of tulle plus a small piece for the center.

    • 2

Unroll 3 yards of tulle. Take one end and bring it to one of the edges you marked on the cardboard. Pin it down with two pins. Smooth the tulle across the cardboard to the other marking. Take the tulle and fold it back across to the first point. Pin the opposite end down so it folds into a pleat. Repeat and continue to fold the tulle back and forth, pinning it down as you switch sides to keep the layers pleated and in place. Do this until you run out of tulle.

    • 3

Take another short piece of tulle and wrap it around the center of the pleated tulle you just folded. Tie it in a tight square knot.

    • 4

Unpin the sides and fluff out the loops of the tulle to create a full bow look.

    • 5

If you'd like a tail or hanging ends tie another piece of tulle around the center or use a long piece of tulle for creating the center when tying your square knot. Add decorations such as ribbons and flowers to the center of the bow if you would like.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful not to smash or squash the bows when storing and transporting.
