How to Write a Thank You Note to Your Parents
Though all people are created by two parents, there are a myriad of different kinds of parents that raise children. Some people are raised by step-parents, adopted parents, foster parents, single parents or other family members. At some point in their lives, most people get to a point where they feel that a "thank you" is in order to their parents, whatever sort of parents they may be or have been. Writing a thank-you card to your parents can be somewhat difficult, but it is doable.
Instructions

1
Place paper on a sturdy, flat, clean surface.
-
2
Hold writing utensil and write the words on the paper that you would like to send to your parents. Obviously, this is the most complicated step, as sometimes what you would like to say is not easily said. Most simply, some phrases that can be used for "thank you" are "I truly appreciate" and "I am so grateful" (see Reference 1). What is more complicated is what to thank parents for. The most obvious choices are giving life and raising you as a child, but you can also thank them for specific positive attributes they have shown that have helped you develop into the person you are.

Tips & Warnings
Other ideas for thank-you cards for your parents are quotes and proverbs that may express your own feelings. A Malayan proverb states: "One can pay back the loan of gold, but one dies forever in debt to those who are kind" (see Reference 2). Shakespeare stated in his play "Twelfth Night," "I can no other answer make but thanks,/ And thanks" (see Reference 3).
Though you may want to state to your parents some of their less positive aspects, that may be something to leave for another time, not necessarily in a thank-you card.
