1
Hold the bouquet tightly in one hand, consistently adding flowers and tightening your grip as it gets larger. Position the flowers into the shape you want. It may help to stand in front of a mirror to see how the bouquet will look in comparison with your body shape.
-
2
Continue to hold the bouquet with one hand in the middle of the stems. Wrap floral tape around the stems securely where the stems naturally touch, or about 3 to 4 inches below the flower buds.

3
Use the knife to cut the stems at an angle so that all of the lengths are even at the bottom. Cutting the stems at an angle will help the flowers to absorb more water. The stems should measure about 7 to 8 inches long.
-
4
Cut a length of ribbon that is about three times the length of the stems, about 21 to 24 inches long. Tuck one end of the ribbon in between the stems, underneath the floral tape.
-
5
Wrap the ribbon down around the bouquet, making sure you cover the floral tape on the first wrap. When you get to the bottom, wrap back up to the top of the bouquet, and tuck the other end into the floral tape again.
-
6
Stick the pearl-tipped pushpins into the stems, starting at the end of the ribbon, and all of the way down the back of the bouquet. The pins should form a neat line down the back of the bouquet, and you should only be able to see the pearls sticking out.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't want to wrap the bouquet immediately after cutting the stems, place the flowers in water until you are ready to wrap them.
Don't use scissors to cut the flower stems. The force of the scissors will crush the stem and hinder the absorption of water.
