How to Use a Gaunaurd Vegetable/Rice Steamer

The Gaunaurd Vegetable and Rice Steamer is produced by IMUSA USA, under the business name of Gaunaurd Group--named for the President of IMUSA USA, Manny Gaunaurd. The steamer is automated, in that you add the ingredients, plug in the pot, turn it on and forget it until the steamer lets you know that the cooking process has finished. The steamer also gives you the ability to prepare dishes like red beans and rice, paella or steamed vegetables without having to cover your stove top with multiple pots that will later clog your dishwasher and your evening. Instructions

    • 1

Set the bowl into the cooker so that it fits snugly. This allows the bowl to make firm contact with the heating unit at the bottom of the cooker.

    • 2

Place measured amount of rice into bowl. Do not allow rice grains to fall between the bowl and the cooker body.

    • 3

Add water up to, but not beyond the level marked on the inside of the cooking bowl. Adding too much water will cause the cooker to boil over.

    • 4

Place the glass lid on the cooker. The "Warm" indicator light will come on as soon as the cooker is plugged in.

    • 5

Push the "On" switch down to start the cooking process. When the cooking process is complete, the "Cook" indicator light will go off and the "Warm" indicator light will remain lit. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Tips & Warnings

  • The unit will spatter and sputter, and create a volume of steam. Don't set the cooker under cabinets, because the steam may harm the cabinet surfaces.
