How to Cut the Hair Clip on Hair Extensions
Hair extensions can make hair appear vastly different from the natural hair of any individual. Hair extensions are often used to give the effect of fuller, longer hair. However, they must be removed at some point. Clip-in hair extensions are one of the easiest forms of hair extensions to remove. Within an hour, your hair can be completely back to normal. 1
Inspect your hair and find exactly where the hair extensions are clipped in. In general, two kinds of hair clips are used. There are the clips that come with the cheapest form of hair extensions, the kind that can be found at almost any accessories store; and there is the clip-on style that looks like tiny plastic rings. Both kinds are much easier to remove than their glued or woven counterparts. Separate the hair extension hair from your natural hair.

2
Locate the clips on the hair extensions. If they are the simplest form of hair extensions, it is possible to just undo the clips by hand. If they are the ringed kind of hair extension clips, then they will need more help.

3
Take the ringed hair clip in one hand. Use needle-nose pliers to gently press on the hair clip until it loosens. If the hair clip breaks, that is not a problem. Sometimes it is necessary to break the clip in half before it can be removed.

4
Remove the hair extensions slowly after the clips have been removed. Slowly drag the extensions down the natural hairs. Try not to tangle the extensions in with the other hairs. Throw the extensions away, or set them aside for future use. If the extensions are tangled, use a comb to brush them out again.

5
Brush out your hair with a large paddle brush. Do not be alarmed if a lot of hair seems to be falling out. Hair extensions prevent the natural loss of hair, so when they are removed, the hairs fall out all at once. There will be enough remaining hairs on your head to look natural.
-
6
Wash your hair thoroughly, massaging the scalp both while shampooing and while conditioning. Wait several weeks before adding any additional extensions to your hair. Hair extensions weaken the hair and make it more susceptible to breakage.
