Things You'll Need

  • 1-1/2 tsp. shea butter
  • 1-1/2 tsp. cocoa butter
  • 2 tsp. grated yellow beeswax
  • 2 tbsp. soy lecithin
  • 2 tsp. almond oil
  • 2 tsp. avocado oil
  • 8 drops essential lemon oil
  • 16 drops essential tea tree oil
  • Small sterile glass jar

Instructions

      Fill a large saucepan half way with water and bring to a boil.

      Place the shea butter, cocoa butter, grated beeswax, soy lecithin, almond oil and avocado oil in a double boiler and place it in the pan of simmering water until the beeswax has melted. Remove from heat.

      Add the essential lemon oil and tea tree oil to the mixture and cool in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

      Transfer the cooled mixture to the small glass jar and store in a cool dry place or the refrigerator between uses.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use by gently rubbing the tea tree oil and lemon foot balm into the rough areas of the foot. Put cotton socks on after application for maximum skin retention.

  • Soy lecithin is available in many health food and natural product stores and it can also be ordered online.

  • Avoid mixing any type of homemade cosmetics or skin care products in an aluminum bowl, as there is some concern about heavy metals entering the finished product.
