How to Make Payments to Your American Airlines Credit Card

American Airlines (AA) card owners earn frequent flier miles that can be redeemed for a number of reward flights. AA cards also have a deferred payment option for tickets purchased from American Airlines, which can hold payments for up to six months; but when you do need to start making payments, it is important to make them on time. There are two ways to make payments on an AA card: paying online or by sending checks through the mail.

Instructions

Making Payments Online

1. Go to the following website: https://www.accountonline.com/cards/svc/Login.do?siteId=AMERICANAIRLINESCREDITCARD

2. Fill in your username or password. If you don't have these, you will need to register. This is strictly for accessing your card account online and will not affect any payments.

3. Click the box that says "Take me To..." and then click "make a payment."

4. Click "Sign-on"

5. Select how much you want to pay. You may select the card's current balance, the minimum payment due, last statement's balance or enter your own amount. Once this is selected, choose a banking account to make the payment from and click "verify information" to review and submit the payment.

Making Payments by Mail

1. Write a check for the amount you want to be paid. Address the check to American Airlines.

2. Write your account number on the front of the check and put it in an envelope. Your account number can be found on your AA card statement.

3. Seal the envelope and put a postage stamp in the upper right corner. Write your name and address in the upper left corner of the envelope. This is the return address.

4. Write the following address in the center of the envelope:

   AmericanAirlines Credit Plan
   Processing Center
   Des Moines, IA 50364-0001

5. Mail the envelope with the payment.

Tips & Warnings

• For paying online, you will need to register a bank account for the AA card to draw money from. To do this, you will need the account number and routing number. These numbers are given out when you first sign up for a savings and are located on the bottom of checks for checking accounts. The AA website guides you through the process of registering a bank account.
