How to Make a Padded Wedding Album
Whether you are looking to make your own padded wedding album to showcase at the wedding reception itself or simply to compile your wedding pictures and scrapbooking pages afterward, a personalized photo album can be a great homemade touch. Making your own book can be easy and cost-effective, giving you the results you want at a price that is right. 1
Measure the ring binder's height, length, and width using a ruler. You will need to know these dimensions in order to cut your craft batting and fabric accordingly for the padded wedding album.
-
2
Cut out the size of craft batting that you will need using scissors. The cut piece of batting should have the same height as the binder and a width equal to the entire outside of the binder, meaning the sum of the widths of the binder's front cover, back cover, and spine.

3
Prepare the hot glue gun by inserting a hot glue stick, plugging the gun in, and waiting for it to heat. Evenly apply hot glue on the front cover of the binder and press the batting down, matching the far right of the binder with the far right of the batting. Continue the process by spreading glue then attaching the batting on the spine of the binder and then on the back cover.

4
Cut out the size of fabric you will need to completely cover the padded binder. Make sure the cut fabric piece has a height one to two inches taller than the binder so you can wrap around the top and bottom fabric edges to the inside of the binder. Also make sure the width of the fabric piece can entirely cover the inside and outside of the binder, meaning the piece itself is as long as the spine plus double the width of the front cover and double the width of the back cover.
-
5
Glue the fabric piece onto the padded binder starting with the outside of the front cover and continuing on until you reach the outside of the back cover. Fold over the extra fabric on the top and bottom of the binder, securing with glue before gluing down the fabric that goes over the inside of the front and back covers. As you glue down the far right and the far left edges of the fabric piece, either tuck the edges into the binding, if possible, or fold the pieces slightly over before gluing to achieve a finished ridge.

Tips & Warnings
If you'd like to further embellish the padded wedding album, you could easily add a bow or a framed picture of the couple to the front cover.
Applying the hot glue in a haphazard pattern on the binder may be visible even after attaching the fabric at the end. Be sure to keep your glue lines neat in order to avoid these kinds of problems.
