How to Make an Arch With Popsicle Sticks
Popsicle sticks offer an inexpensive way to create stunning designs and structures. Use popsicle sticks to build a breathtaking arch or bridge structure to impress your family and friends.

Build A Popsicle Stick Arch
-
1
Build base. To build the base of the arch, glue four popsicle sticks together in a line, end-to-end. To do this, lay sticks flat and allow to overlap slightly on top of one another. Glue in place, one at a time. Repeat, making another line of four sticks. Once dry, place popsicle stick lines together, running parallel on their edges, exactly one stick apart. Glue a popsicle stick connecting the two lines on either end, approximately one inch from end.

2
Build supporting arch structure. To build, start in the center of a line of four popsicle sticks (from previous step) and glue two popsicle sticks going diagonally upward. Where the two sticks end up above, position two more sticks to move from this space back down to the base of the same line the first two sticks came from. Wherever these sticks end on the bottom line, glue. Repeat on other side.

3
Build arch structure. To build, place three unused popsicle sticks in a straight line, overlapping slightly. Glue together. Once dry, glue a stick to each end at a slight angle. To make sure arch is at the right angle, position these sticks at base of existing structure to ensure they will reach both ends of the arch. Glue in place. Repeat for other side. Once dry, attach to existing structure by placing the arch above the four glued sticks on each side.

4
Build overtop arch structure. These popsicle sticks hold the arch in place. To create, glue popsicle sticks moving back and forth from the top of one side of the arch to the other. To accomplish this, glue one stick straight across, connecting the two structures. Next, glue a stick diagonally across. Repeat across base of the bridge, alternating between diagonal and straight across. There should be nine popsicle sticks along the top arch when finished.

5
Allow entire structure to dry, and be gentle. Move the arch structure only by supporting it on the bottom, and do not hold from the top of the arch, as this is the most fragile part. Keep arch in a safe, dry place.
