How to Make Onesie Flowers
When it is time to present a baby gift, have some fun making the gift unusual and special. Every baby needs onesie undershirts (one-piece undershirts with snaps). Dress up this standard gift by creating onesie flowers. By rolling the tiny onesies up tightly, they will resemble rosebuds. Assemble the gift by placing the onesie flowers into a basket and adding silk greenery. Top it off with a few pacifiers and rattles and the gift is complete.
Things You'll Need
- Six or seven onesies (any color or print desired)
- ½-inch wide grosgrain ribbons (colors to match the onesies)
- Scissors
- Basket
- Three sheets of tissue paper (any color desired)
- Silk leaves
- Pacifiers and rattles
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut one 10-inch piece of ribbon for each onesie.
-
2
Fold the onesies into thirds so that they are long and thin. Begin rolling the onesies up tightly, starting at the neckline and ending in the crotch area.
-
-
3
Tie a ribbon tightly around each rolled onesie to keep the onesie rolled tightly. Tie the ribbon in a pretty bow.
-
4
Crinkle up enough tissue paper to line the bottom of the basket. The tissue paper is a filler to enable the onesie flowers to sit high enough in the basket that they extend past the top of the basket.
-
5
Add the onesie flowers to the basket on top of the crinkled tissue paper. Place the onesie flowers so a folded, rolled edge is facing up (resembling a rosebud). Arrange the onesie flowers so they are attractive in the basket.
-
6
Place the silk leaves in and around the onesie flowers to add color and interest to the basket.
-
7
Tuck the pacifiers and rattles into the basket.
