It's easy to prepare an absolutely perfect prime rib roast; a simple glaze applied to the meat before cooking makes a fantastic prime rib dinner without a lot of prep time. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 5- to 6-lb. prime rib
  • 1/3-cup beef broth
  • 1/4-cup garlic salt
  • 2 tbsp. curry powder
  • 2 tbsp. black pepper
  • Meat thermometer

Instructions

      Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.

      Combine the broth, salt, pepper and curry powder to make a paste. Rub the paste on the top of the roast

      Bake the prime rib, roast fat side up, for 20 minutes.

      Lower the temperature of the oven to 300 degrees F. and bake the roast for an additional 1.5 hours. Don't open the oven at all during the baking process, if possible.

      Check the internal temperature of the roast with a meat thermometer; the roast is done when the internal temperature is 155-160 F.

  • Beef should be heated to a minimum internal temperature of 155-160 degrees F.; consuming undercooked beef is a health risk.
