How to Connect to AT&T Wireless Internet Service in Your Home
Several wireless Internet providers operate across the United States, including AT&T, one of the most popular. Although AT&T offers DSL Internet, it is possible to have wireless service throughout your home. Typically, a technician will install Internet service to your home. However, it is possible to install wireless Internet yourself.

1
Contact AT&T and have it set up DSL Internet service. You need a line-based Internet before you can activate wireless Internet.
-
2
Connect an Ethernet cable into a wall outlet. Many newer homes have separate DSL outlets; most older homes require an adapter to be plugged into a phone line.
-
-
3
Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the "Internet" port on the rear of a DSL modem.
-
4
Insert a second Ethernet cable into the first available port next to the "Internet" port on the modem. Plug the other end of the cable into the "Internet" port on a wireless router.
-
5
Power on both the wireless router and the DSL modem.
-
6
Launch the web browser on your computer. Look on the bottom of the wireless router for an activation address (typically something like "http://192..."). Type this address into the URL bar of your Web browser and hit enter. This brings up the options for the router.
-
7
Select "OK" for all the current options and the router activates. You can now browser the Internet wirelessly via the wireless router connected to your AT&T DSL modem.
