How to Cancel Experian

Experian is one of the three major credit bureaus that maintains a copy of your credit report. The company offers several different products for consumers, ranging from the purchase of an individual credit report to enrollment in their Triple Advantage credit monitoring service. If you have enrolled in Triple Advantage and do not wish to retain your membership, you can cancel the service by emailing or calling Experian's customer service department.

Instructions

    • 1

Send a cancellation request via email to support@freecreditreport.com. Inform them explicitly that you want the service to be canceled as soon as possible. If your email doesn't automatically save a copy of sent emails, include yourself as a recipient so you will have a copy of your cancellation request.

    • 2

Call the customer service hotline at 1-888-829-6560 and verify that the account has been canceled. If you are canceling within the trial period, make sure that the cancellation is scheduled to take place before you are billed for the service.

    • 3

Write down the date and time of the phone call, the date that the cancellation is effective, and the confirmation number or name of the representative with whom you spoke. Keep this information in a safe place in case you are charged for the service and need to contest the charges.
