How to Create Wavy Hair With a Chi Straightener
Chi straighteners are known for being expensive, a comfortable size and great for even the curliest hair. The straightener is also good for smoothing the hair. However, women do not always want straight hair. One of the reasons Chi straighteners come in small sizes (the plates can be as small as one inch) is so the hair can be straightened and curled. Curling the hair with the straightener can be just as easy as straightening it. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Turn the flat iron on and use the rat-tail comb to separate the hair while the iron is heating up.
-
2
Divide the hair in half, separating the top of the hair with the bottom. Clip the top of the hair to the top of your head.
-
-
3
Divide the back of the bottom layer of hair in half. Clip back one side.
-
4
Bring the iron up to the top of the one section that is not clipped back. Slowly, pull the the flat iron down and begin turning the iron slightly inward.
-
5
Continue turning the iron as you slide down the section of hair. Release the iron at the end of the hair. The strand of hair will be curled.
-
6
Let the other side of your hair down and repeat steps 4 and 5. Let the top of the hair completely down and section it off (right side, left side, back right and back left).

Tips & Warnings
For tighter curls, twist the section of hair completely around the flat iron and hold for two seconds.
These flat irons can get extremely hot. Never hold the iron to your hair for longer than three seconds; you could damage your hair. Use caution when straightening near the face, ears or the back of the neck--anywhere the iron could come in contact with your skin.
