How to Change a Sony DVD Player Dvp-Ns50p to Multi Zone
In the world of DVD players, it matters what part of the world you're in. On most DVD cases you'll see, generally on the back, in a corner, a small symbol of a flat world with a number printed in the center. This number refers to the DVD's region (or zone). Generally, in order to play a DVD, your player must match the DVD's region. Many DVD players, though, including the Sony DVP-NS50P, can be made "region-free," and so play DVDs from anywhere.

With the player in stand-by mode (take out any discs and leave it alone for several minutes) press on the remote, in this order: TOP MENU, CLEAR, POWER.

A menu will appear with several options. Choose Option 2 and then Option 4.

Type 12450, press enter, then type 00000.

After the tray opens and closes repeatedly (this is normal), unplug the unit, then plug it back in and turn it on.
