How to Heal Acne at the Corners of Your Mouth
Many people have acne around the corners of their mouth, which can be difficult to treat due to its close proximity to the mucus membranes of the mouth. Although benzoyl peroxide creams are typically used to heal acne breakouts, a natural treatment method should be used when treating acne breakouts around the mucus membranes near the mouth. Many natural products can eliminate acne breakouts just as effectively as chemical products can. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash the skin around the mouth with a gentle soap formulated for sensitive skin. Acne soaps and cleansers can be too irritating and strong for the skin around the mouth area. Instead of using a strong chemical soap, cleanse the skin lightly using a sensitive skin soap, which will be free of chemical additives and artificial perfumes that can irritate the skin. Wet and lather the area around the mouth thoroughly, then rinse the area off completely with water. This simple cleansing method is sufficient enough to clean the skin around the mouth without irritating it. Wash in the morning and again in the evening.

Exfoliate the skin well using baking soda, which consists of soft, yet mildly abrasive particulates that will effectively remove dead skin cells around the mouth. Removing these skin cells will prevent the pores around the mouth from becoming clogged. Mix 1 tbsp. baking soda with 1 tsp. water, and massage the paste that is formed onto the skin around the mouth. Use gentle circular motions with the fingertips to scrub the skin for one to two minutes, then rinse off the skin with warm water. Apply a baking soda exfoliating scrub one to two times per week to remove dead skin cells and to keep the pores clear.

Medicate the skin around the mouth with tea tree oil, which is just as effective as benzoyl peroxide cream but doesn't have the irritating side effects, such as peeling or burning. It is important to dilute the tea tree oil before using it around the mouth so that it will not be too strong. Dilution can be accomplished by dipping a cotton swab in pure tea tree oil, then dipping it again in water. Spread the diluted tea tree oil onto the acne around the mouth area. Do not get the tea tree oil into your mouth. Repeat up to three times every day until the acne is eliminated.
