If your goal in life is to be a bookkeeper or an accountant, then the first thing you need to do is to learn how to use Quickbooks. Quickbooks is software made by Intuit that allows people to things such as create invoices, balance books and keep an eye on accounts. Many job openings in bookkeeping require Quickbooks knowledge, so training is a must.

Instructions

1. Apply for and get an internship in an accounting or bookkeeping position at a job. The internship will more then likely instruct you in the use of Quickbooks as part of the duties.

2. Take an accounting class at a local community college or online. Many classes know that Quickbooks is the standard for accounting and bookeeping, and offer some lessons in practicing Quickbooks for standard tasks.

3. Take a class online or in-person that deals specifically with Quickbooks. These classes are usually more expensive than the accounting classes, but center entirely around the use of Quickbooks.

4. Get a copy of Quickbooks for yourself and read books on how to use it. This way, you can learn at your own pace, and often at a much cheaper price than either of the above two steps.
