How to Unplug a Dyson Canister Vacuum
Dyson manufactures premium upright and canister vacuums. The company offers several different canister models, including the DC-11, DC-28 and DC-22. No matter which model you have, the method for properly unplugging the system is the same. Press the "Off" button on the base of the Dyson canister. Never attempt to unplug the vacuum with the power on.

Grasp the plug connected to your wall outlet, and remove it. Never unplug the vacuum by pulling on the power cord.

Hold onto the plug firmly, and then grab the cord at the base of the canister. Pull the cord slightly to begin retracting it. Let the cord retract slowly while you hold the plug.

Tips & Warnings
Always retract your power cord when you are finished using your Dyson canister. Leaving it out could create a safety hazard.
