How to Change a 18W Halogen Pendant Bulb
The first practical Halogen bulb was patented by General Electric in 1959. Halogen light bulbs are designed to last for 4000 hours on average. A Halogen lamp is a small incandescent light bulb that contains a Tungsten filament and a Halogen gas, usually Iodine. Halogen bulbs are easy to replace and give off warm and cozy light. Place the ladder under the pendant light. Make sure to position the ladder so that it is stable.

Remove the shade and the glass UV protector. Put both items in a secure location where they will not be lost or broken.

Remove the old bulb and discard.

Use a cloth to hold the bulb and insert the pins into the bulb holder. Make sure that you do not touch the bulb with your fingers. Fingerprints on the outside of the glass can shorten the life of a Halogen lamp.

Replace the glass UV protector and the shade.

Turn on the light and enjoy the glow.

You may need the assistance of a friend to hold the ladder.
Be sure not to touch the outside of the Halogen bulb with your fingers; this can shorten the life of the bulb.
