Many people don't like the richness and fat content of rich decorators icing. Decorate a cake with whipped topping. Use this recipe to make a batch that is stiff enough to decorate with, yet still light and fluffy. You can color it and use it in a decorators bag! Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Measure out the ingredients:

      * 1 cup of whipping cream
      * 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
      * 1 teaspoon of clear vanilla extract
      * Paste food coloring

      Put the whipping cream into a chilled mixing bowl.

      Beat the cream on medium-high speed with an electric mixer. Beat until the cream begins to get stiff.

      Lower the mixer speed to medium-low while adding in the remaining ingredients. The powdered sugar, vanilla and paste. Do not use liquid food coloring.

      Keep mixing until it is stiff and fluffy.

      Use immediately to decorate cakes. It can put spread on or used in a decorators bag. For best results use no longer than 2 to 3 hours before serving.

  • Can be used to decorate pies as well, virtually anything.
