      Find the soft spot on coconut

      On the bottom of a coconut there are three dark spots. Feel for the softest one and start to work the tip of a sharp knife into it. This takes a little strength but is easier than cracking it open and making a mess.

      Work the knife in different directions into the shell until it makes a fairly good size hole into the coconut. See the next step..

      Fresh coconut juice will pour out when you turn it upside down. There may be some residue from the shell so pour a little juice out first and then rinse bowl and pour the rest out. Be sure to shake the coconut around as you pour to get every drop.Mix with foods for recipes or drink straight up!
