How to Host a Golf Banquet
You are running a golf tournament and the competition has been a success. After the competition--be it on the professional, country club or business level--you are putting on a post-tournament banquet for the competitors. You want to let everyone know how glad you were they participated, you want to present awards, you want to entertain them and you want to provide a good meal.

1
Secure a venue for your banquet. Many top-level golf courses have banquet facilities on site so you should be able to get a facility that your golfers won't have to search for. If the club does not have a banquet facility or it is already booked, find a location that is as close to the golf course as possible. Arrange for an impressive meal for all your guests and you will want to get to know the individual desires of your guests. Offer them a choice of meat, chicken or fish and give any vegetarian an opportunity to order her own meal.

2
Have a gift basket for all the players. The people that made your event a success are the golfers themselves. Hand them some gifts of appreciation. Golf-related gifts, gift cards and other similar items will suffice. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars but it's nice to show your appreciation.

Hand out trophies and awards to the top golfers in your tournament. In many tournaments, the top five golfers will get honors and prizes. In a professional tournament, you will only hand out trophies to the winner and the runner-up. Prize money is paid out to the individual without any pomp and circumstance, except for a ceremonial check that may be handed to the winner at the end of the tournament.

4
Have after-dinner entertainment for your guests. Golfers like to unwind after the competition and a hard-edged comedian may help everyone loosen up. If you don't think your crowd will appreciate anything that comes close to the edge, perhaps a band or singer will suffice.
