How to Make Christ Anointing Oil
Christians believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God. They pray in his name and believe in his miracles. One of the most common prayers or petitions is for healing. The Bible describes instances in which olive oil was applied to an individual as representative of Christ's anointing. The "anointing oil" was applied to the forehead or wherever the sick person needed. Today, priests and pastors make their own anointing oil to use at healing services or for praying with the sick.

1
Place the funnel into the opening of the small glass bottle. Open the bottle of olive oil. Gently pour the olive oil into the glass bottle. Do not overfill the bottle.

2
Wipe the outside of the small glass bottle with a cloth. Wipe away any oil that may have spilled over. Place the cork inside the bottle.

-
3
Pray over the bottle of oil in the name of Christ. Ask God to bless the oil and place his special anointing on the contents. Declare that the oil will be used solely for prayer.
-
4
Write "Anointing Oil" on the label with a permanent marker, then stick the label to the front of the glass bottle. This will identify the bottle and keep it from being used for something other than prayer.
-
5
Place the bottle somewhere you can get it during prayer. At church you might tuck it into the shelf of a pulpit or somewhere near the platform. During a prayer meeting you might keep it nearby to use while praying for the sick.

Tips & Warnings
Olive oil is the most commonly used oil for anointing oil because the practice is found in the Bible. However, any oil would be fine to use.
Apply a small amount of oil to new linen 2-inch cloth squares. These squares are known as prayer cloths and can be used by tucking them into the pockets of the sick if they can't be present for an actual anointing.
Extra virgin olive oil is the lightest to the touch and in scent. It's a popular choice for anointing oils.
If you pour the oil over someone's head, ask him to close his eyes first. Pouring oil into someone's eyes can be uncomfortable and will be hard to get out.
Ask permission before anointing someone with oil. People who aren't familiar with the practice may not appreciate having oil applied.
