Instructions

    • 1

Choose the perfume around which you will create your gift box. When giving perfume as a gift, it is wise to give a scent that the recipient is familiar with or has used before. Perfumes tend to react differently to each person's body chemistry--what smells great on you may not be pleasing to your mother!

    • 2

Select a fragrance theme and collect other items in a matching or similar scent as the perfume; choices include hand or body lotion, shower gel, powder, roll-on or travel size perfume, or shampoo and conditioner.

    • 3

Add small trinkets such as potpourri sachets, fancy soaps, or votive candles that are associated with the fragrance.

    • 4

Personalize the gift set by focusing on the recipient. For example, a gift box for a young girl could include a youthful, hip perfume, body wash in the same scent, a shower pouf, lip gloss, hair accessories, and jewelry.

A perfume gift box set makes a great baby shower gift--not everything needs to be for the baby! To pamper the expectant mother, include a lightly scented perfume, lotion, bath salts, loofah, cooling eye mask, and aromatherapy heat pad.

For a man, you could include a cologne, aftershave, and a grooming kit.

    • 5

Purchase a decorated gift box, or use a plain box that you will cover with gift wrap or colored craft paper. If you are covering a box, affix the gift wrap or craft paper to the outside with glue or tape. Cover the bottom and the top separately--do not wrap them like a gift. You'll need to remove and replace the lid.

    • 6

Stuff tissue paper in bunches into the bottom of the box, creating a bed for the perfume and other gift items. Use additional tissue paper to fill in any gaps and to secure items so they will not shift in the package. Replace the decorated lid and you have a complete perfume gift box set.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid adding edible products to perfume gift sets. Foods can absorb the fragrance, ruining the taste of the food.
