How to Draw From a Shoulder Holster
Learning to properly draw from a shoulder holster is a skill often taught to plain clothes law enforcement personnel, as well as citizens enrolled in a concealed weapons course. This move is a higher risk draw than the common side holster, as you endanger shooting the brachial artery in the holster side arm. Along with accurate shooting, learning this particular draw requires practice through repetition. It should also be practiced slowly at first.

1
Stand relaxed with your weapon holstered. Reach across your body with your non-shooting arm (the arm on the side of your holster) and place your hand on the shoulder of your shooting arm. This places your arm out of danger's way and decreases the chances of injury due to accidental discharge.
-
2
Grip the pistol grip with your trigger finger outside of the trigger guard. Slowly withdraw the weapon from the holster, while still keeping your non-shooting hand on your shoulder until the weapon is safely in front of you.

3
Remove your non-shooting hand from your shoulder and place it underneath the pistol grip for control and accuracy. With your elbows slightly bent, aim at your target. Place your trigger finger on the trigger only when you are prepared to fire. After discharge, place your finger back over the guard and do the steps in reverse to holster your weapon.

If you are practicing this skill on a range with live rounds, always make sure no one is behind you when you draw in case of accidental discharge.
