How to Make Frozen Daiquiri Perfume

While most perfumes have scents that are based on a combination of floral fragrances, for those who are seeking a more fun-loving personal aroma, fruit- and cocktail-scented perfume brings an appetizing and interesting appeal. Just as you can create your own floral perfumes with a mix of essential oils and carrier ingredients, you can create a homemade strawberry daiquiri perfume.

Things You'll Need

• 2 tbsp. rubbing alcohol
• Distilled water
• Strawberry essential oil
• One-half tbsp. clear rum
• Bottle for the perfume
• Funnel
• Unscented dish soap

Instructions

1. Mix rubbing alcohol and one-quarter cup of distilled water in a bowl to form the unscented perfume base. Set aside for now.

2. Combine the clear rum and strawberry essential oil. Start with the rum, then add essential oil a few drops at a time and mix with a fork. Test the mixture with your nose to see when you've gotten the balance you want; since every essential oil is different in terms of strength, you'll have to experiment to get the right mix. You'll want this solution to have a good balance between the smell of the rum and the strawberry, but to be stronger overall than you want the finished perfume to be.

3. Add the rum and oil solution to the water base. Stir thoroughly.

4. Bottle the homemade perfume. Place the funnel in the mouth of the bottle and pour the perfume mix into the bottle. Watch the volume carefully as it fills to prevent overflow, since you may have more perfume than you have space in the bottle.

5. Apply a small amount of dish soap to your fingertip. Press the soapy finger over the top of the bottle and shake it, allowing the soak on your finger to mix with the perfume. This should emulsify it, causing the essential oil, alcohol and water to mix. You'll know this has happened if oil droplets don't appear on the top of the water's surface. If they do, repeat the process with more soap, but do not add soap directly to the perfume (it's too easy to use too much).
