1
Print a biography wheel template. You can find free, downloadable templates online by typing "biography wheel" into your search engine. Deer Park Elementary School in Fairfax, Va., offers one wheel template taken from a Fairfax County School publication. You can use this template as your model (see References for link).

2
Use an old coffee canister or household item with a circular base to draw a circle on a piece of construction paper. Place the circular object on the paper and trace with a pencil.

3
Cut out the circle and fold. You will fold the circle three times. First, fold it in half by folding it down. Then, fold it in half again by folding it to the right. Finally, fold it in half a third time by folding it to the right again.
-
4
Unfold and flatten the circle. Turn over the circle and smooth it with your hand. Now you have sections for your biographical information.
-
5
Copy the appropriate headings from the "biography wheel template." You also can add your own. Remember to include the basic information about your life--date of birth, place of birth, family members' names, interests.
-
6
Use markers to fill out the biography wheel. Encourage your children to brainstorm quietly and think about the characteristics that make them unique and special. They should include what comes to mind on the biography wheel.
