1
Choose a blanket or fabric that is soft, but breathable. The best fabrics to use for a cuddle wrap are cotton fabrics or cotton mixtures. The blanket should be thin, but warm, and should not be made out of materials like polyester, because these materials will not breathe.
-
2
Cut the material or blanket into a 3 foot by 3 foot square.
-
-
3
Hem the edges of the blanket.
-
4
Lay the blanket on a flat surface, like a table or the floor.
-
5
Attach a piece of sticky-back Velcro to the bottom edge of the blanket, on the face down side.
-
6
Line the two lengthwise edges of the blanket with sticky-back Velcro, on the face down side.
-
7
Lay the baby or child in the middle of the blanket.
-
8
Pull up the bottom edge of the cuddle wrap so that it covers the baby's feet. Lay it on the baby's middle.
-
9
Take one side of the blanket and wrap it over the top of the baby. Tuck it into the space between the baby's side and the other side of the blanket.
-
10
Take the second side of the blanket and wrap it tightly around the baby. Use the Velcro to fasten it to the other side or to the Velcro at the bottom, depending on how it fits.
-
11
Take note of where the blanket edges meet up. Add more sticky back Velcro on these places so you can have a secure fit.
