How to Spot Counterfeit Uggs

How to Spot Counterfeit UGGs

1. Check the stitching on your boots. Look to see if the fur lining sticks out excessively from underneath the stitching, if the thread is darker than the fabric or if the stitching itself does not line up evenly around the boot.

2. With the fine-toothed comb, see if you can easily comb the fur lining. The comb should glide easily through the fur.

3. Using the magnifying glass, look at the label on the back heel. Make sure the label is silk, the stitching matches the label color and the letters slightly overlap each other.

4. Taking the boot in your hands, try to bend the sole. The soles of authentic UGGs are highly flexible and slightly lighter than the color of the suede.

5. Smell the boot. It may smell slightly of dye, but that odor will go away after a few wears. Fake UGGs often reek of dye, and the smell takes a significantly longer time to fade.
