How to Block Contacts
Email is a convenient way of communicating with family, friends and colleagues. It is not uncommon for users to have hundreds of contacts in their email address book. Inevitably, some receive unwanted communications via email. You may wish to block the email addresses of contacts that harass you or fill your inbox with bulk spam. The method for blocking contacts varies slightly depending on the email provider you are using.

Access the sender filter. In some email clients, the filter is located within the "Spam" or "Junk" submenu. Most clients provide users with choices such as allowing messages from all senders and blocking messages from all senders. Choose the option that blocks incoming mail from a sender you specify.

4
Type the email address of the sender you wish to block when prompted. Click "Add" or "OK" to confirm the changes to your list of blocked contacts.
-
5
Keep in mind that some clients allow users to block contacts without having to alter options or settings. Some allow users to highlight a message from an unwanted sender and click the "Mark as unsafe" button. Others feature a "Block" button within a user's address book. Doing so sends the sender's email address to the spam filter.
