Instructions

    • 1

Stick the tie tack pin's post into the Styrofoam to hold it as you work. Brush any loose Styrofoam from the piece of foam to ensure loose pieces don't get stuck in the glue during the crafting process.

    • 2

Select your button and place a dab of glue onto the button back. You will need enough glue for the tie tack to "squish" into the glue and hold. If the button has a flat back, the gluing process will be simpler. If the button has a protruding shank, you may have to remove it with wire clippers first. If the button has a flat bar or molded metal/plastic protrusion, you will need to add enough glue to level the button onto the flat area of the tie tack.

    • 3

Push the button onto the flat face of the tie tack. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 4

Remove the tie tack with the adhered button from the Styrofoam and brush off any bits of Styrofoam that may have gotten stuck to the glue on the back of the button or on the lapel pin.

    • 5

Place the tie tack clutch back onto the tie tack pin's post. Wear as you would any lapel pin. Tie tack and lapel pin findings are identical. It is easier to locate the jewelry findings if you search under "tie tack pin" at craft stores.

Tips & Warnings
