How to Empty a Dyson Vacuum
Dyson is a manufacturer of several models of vacuums that are well known for their ease of use, stylish appearance and excellent functionality. However, their technological advancement means that new Dyson owners may not immediately discern how to perform simple maintenance tasks. Fortunately, Dyson has made many of these functions very easy to perform, including emptying the debris receptacle. Once this task has been performed once, it will be easy to repeat in the future. Press the button on the handle at the top of the debris receptacle to release the receptacle from the vacuum.

Hold the base of the receptacle over your garbage can or garbage bag. Make sure the receptacle is fully inserted in the garbage can or bag to avoid escaping dust.

Press the red release valve on the back of the debris receptacle in order to empty the contents into the garbage can or bag.

Close the bottom of the trash receptacle by pushing the bottom cover back against the base of the receptacle. There should be an audible "click" when it has locked in place.

Replace the debris receptacle back on to the vacuum by lining up the bottom of the receptacle with the circular base on the vacuum. Push the top handle of the receptacle back into place until it clicks.

Tips & Warnings
The debris receptacle detaches easily from the vacuum. Don't pull or press too hard at any point--otherwise you risk breaking your new Dyson vacuum.
