Instructions

    • 1

Dissolve your yeast in water and set aside for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    • 2

Combine the sugar, oil, salt and flour in a bowl, leaving a space in the middle. When the yeast mix is bubbly pour into to the space.

    • 3

Knead the dough, bringing the flour toward the center of the bowl while you increase the kneading motion.

    • 4

If the dough feels dry, add a little more water to the mix. If it's a little sticky, add more flour. Knead until your dough is smooth and fairly elastic. Roll into a ball and cover with a damp cloth or paper towel.

    • 5

Let the dough set for about 20 minutes in a warm place. Beat the dough with your palm to expel gas formed while it sets. Roll the dough in a ball again after beating. You can use it now or store for later use.

    • 6

When you're ready to use the dough, place it on a floured counter surface. Flatten the dough from the center out or use a rolling pin. Push the dough evenly onto a greased cookie sheet or pizza pan and form a 12-inch circle with the edges thicker then the middle.

Tips & Warnings

  • To store, baste the dough with oil, cover it with plastic wrap and store it in refrigerator.
