If you're like me, you don't want to have to spend all day in the kitchen just to make dinner. This is a set-it and forget-it meal that your family will LOVE! Don't plan for leftovers!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spiral ham
  • can of coke (not pepsi)
  • brown sugar
  • a couple of tart apples (piñata apples are great!)
  • whole cloves (optional)
  • slow cooker (crock pot)
  1. Step 1

After unwrapping the ham and removing the glaze pack, place the ham in your crockpot. Save the glaze pack for later.

  2. Step 2

Pour about 1/2 the can of Coke over the ham. You only want about 1/2 inch of liquid around the ham.

  3. Step 3

Sprinkle a handful of brown sugar across the ham. The more brown sugar you use, the more of a syrupy glaze you'll get...but a handful is plenty.

  4. Step 4

Peel, core, and cube the apples. Put the peelings on the top of the ham. Pour the apple cubes around the ham. You can drop in a few whole cloves too if you'd like.

  5. Step 5

Set your slow cooker on low and just let it cook all day long (6-8 hours is plenty long).

  6. Step 6

Plate the ham. You can pour the glaze that came with the ham over the top now, and serve the apple cubes on the side (toss the peels tho).

    SCRUMDILLIUMCIOUS!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use only Coke. Pepsi seems to be too sticky, and generic brands don't seem to have enough acidity.
  • If you do add cloves, be sure to remove them when you serve.
  • Tart apples are best - Granny Smiths, Piñata, and Fuji...not red delicious as they just break down to quick.
