Never reward screaming. Children scream because they have been rewarded for their behavior (screaming) in the past. Most kids will stop screaming when they get what they want. If you stop giving in to them and stand firm, your children will eventually stop their screaming bouts once they realize it's getting them no where.

Avoid your kids when they scream. Another reason kids scream is to get attention. Again, if you give in to what they want, all your doing is teaching them that screaming equals more attention from mom and dad. Instead, at the first scream, completely ignore them and leave them in a room all by themselves to scream as loud and as long as they want. When they realize that no one is listening, they will normally stop screaming.

Take away privileges when your child screams. For instance, if your child is screaming say "if you don't stop screaming by the time I get to 5, no TV for the rest of the day. However, in order for this method to work, you have to stick to your convictions. If you said no TV, that's mean's no TV no matter how good their behavior is the rest of the day. If your kids figure out that they can get things back later by behaving good, they will be more likely to scream if they don't get their way in the first place.
