Lip wrinkles are among the first age signs to appear on your face in nearly all cases. This is because lips are exposed to more environmental elements and also because they receive more stress and less protection than most other parts of the face. Your lips are delicate, which may make you think that wrinkles in this area are inevitable. In reality, though, you can easily remove lip wrinkles with nearly the same anti-wrinkle treatments that you would use on any other part of your face.

Wash your lips with a gentle exfoliating cleanser. Use a soft cloth with light pressure, since too much stress with an exfoliate can chap lips. Removing dead skin cells from your lips is just as important as removing them from the rest of your face, though, and will make those lip wrinkles immediately shallower.

Rub the wrinkled areas on your lips with vitamin E oil. Vitamin E oil will moisturize the skin and provide it with antioxidants that will slow the aging process. Apply the oil to the area around your lips as well as to the wrinkles on your lips themselves.

Moisturize your lips. Use both a rich moisturizer and then a sunscreen lip balm. This will not only hydrate the skin cells, which plumps them up and can erase lip wrinkles in seconds, but also protects your lips from environmental damage.

Drink plenty of water. You should be drinking at least eight 8-oz. glasses of water each day. Your lips and hands are the first places to show it when you are dehydrated, and the skin gets wrinkled and dry faster than anywhere else on your body. Getting plenty of water can help you avoid and eliminate lip wrinkles faster than just about anything else.

Tip

Do not exfoliate more often than every three days.

Warning

If you smoke, you will not be able to get rid of your lip wrinkles. The damage from the smoke will cause more harm than the good that you are doing can counteract.
