How to Create Iron on Patches With Pictures
Personalized clothing with iron-on patches can be a fun craft and a means of self-expression, since no one else will have the same shirt, jacket or jeans. Getting the photo onto the clothing requires a special type of iron-on patch that can be run through a computer printer. Digital photos on a computer can be printed to the patch, which is then adhered to clothing with a hot iron. Digital imaging software enables color correction and reverse printing of photos, so words in a picture will read correctly, not backwards.
Things You'll Need
- Iron on patches
- Computer with inkjet printer

1
Display the desired picture on the computer monitor by opening the photo file using digital imaging software such as Photoshop.
-
2
Click the Image tab at the top of the screen, then choose Image Size or Image Adjustments (depending on the software) to enter the dimensions of the photo as it will be printed on the iron-on transfer. For example, an 8x10 photo will have to be scaled back to fit a 5x7 transfer.

Chose Image once more to orient the photo in the correct direction for printing. Under Image, click Rotate Canvas and choose Flip Canvas Horizontal.
