Use either the website of the company that produced the cigarettes, or use a Federal Trade Commission report, which usually covers how much nicotine is in most brands of cigarettes.

3. Compare the amounts. Either go by the list, or by the knowledge that the average cigarette in the United States contains about 9 mg of nicotine. Using this knowledge, you can make an informed decision on the amount of nicotine in a cigarette in comparison with other cigarettes.
