How to Best Use Cold Wax With Sugar
Cold sugaring wax is an excellent option to remove unwanted hair. You can purchase sugaring based cold wax or make your own. The same basic recipe can be used to make a warm sugaring wax or one used at room temperature. Save yourself time and money by waxing at home to eliminate trips to the salon and daily shaving. Things You'll Need
- Sugar
- Lemon or lime juice
- Saucepan
- Storage container
- Paper or muslin strips, optional

Combine 2 cups of sugar, 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 1/4 cup of water in a saucepan. Allow to cook over low heat until the mixture is golden brown and quite thick. Scoop the mixture into covered plastic containers.

Allow to cool to room temperature before using your cold sugaring wax.

Work with a small amount of cold wax for the face or a larger amount for areas on the body. Flatten the sugaring wax between your hands to approximately 1/8-inch thick. Place onto the area to be waxed, pressing firmly onto the skin.

Hold the skin firmly with one hand and pull the sugaring wax off of the skin in the direction opposite hair growth.

Use the same piece of cold sugaring wax again, folding and flattening it as needed. Discard and use a new piece of wax when the original becomes too sticky.

Tips & Warnings
If you have trouble lifting the wax away from the skin, press a piece of paper or cotton muslin to the strip and then pull away.
