Using customized letterhead stationery in your email messages allows for an unobtrusive way to promote your company. It also provides you with a colorful and creative way to display your contact information.
Things You'll Need
- Internet access
- Outlook email account
- Image file for letterhead
Log into your Outlook email account. Before you can send messages with your letterhead included, you must first create a new file for the stationery. Under the pulldown menu for Tools, choose "Options." Click on the "Compose" tab; the second heading is labeled Stationery.
Click the "Create New" button to activate Stationery Wizard, then click on "Browse." Select the image file you want to set as your stationery, then click on the "Next" button. Set font size and left and top margin widths, then type in a name for the new stationery file. Click "Finish." This completes the setup process for the new letterhead stationery.
Return to the main Outlook menu. In the "Message" pulldown menu, select "New Message Using." A separate menu will appear to the right with a list of created templates. Select the file you have newly created. A new email will pop up with your customized letterhead included. Fill in the recipient field, type in your message, and send your email!
Tips & Warnings
- To include your customized letterhead in your emails, you must start every new message by completing Step 3. If you do not wish to use letterhead in some email, you may simply choose the "New Message" icon from the main Outlook screen.
