How to Make a Chef Hat
Creating a nice fluffy chef hat is simple and fun. Kids love to create them, and it's a safe and inexpensive craft project that doesn't take much time from start to finish. Best of all, you don't need any glue or special craft materials, making a chef hat is simple and easy.

1
Get a hat band. If you want to make a chef hat the first thing you need to do is round up a hat band. If you don't have many of those lying around the house, you can substitute in an elastic band for clothing, or you can even use a thick piece of poster board or card stalk if you cut it to the right size.

2
Make the top of the Chef Hat. Now grab some tissue paper (or whatever light thin paper you want to make the chef hat with). Tape the bottom of your tissue paper to the headband or poster board. Work your way around the headband and tape tissue paper over all the empty space. Surround the headband with tissue paper, and don't be afraid to overlap it. If you want to make a fluffy big chef hat, you will need to overlap the tissue paper.

3
Circle the Headband. Now you're ready to use a paper clip to attach the headband together-the headband should make a circle shape. Tie (or tape) the tissue paper together near the top of the chef hat. Cut off any excess tissue paper that may be at the top of your chef hat. Make your chef hat as puffy as you want, and get rid of the extra tissue paper.

4
Resize your hat. Undo the paperclip keeping the chef hat together, this will allow you to size it properly and allow the tissue paper to get a more authentic ruffled look. To make a chef hat, link your poster board or hat band into a circle. It should fit around your head pretty snug. Once you find the right size for your chef hat, tape it or staple it together. When you tape the hat back together again, fix any gaps that may have occurred, and you are ready to begin cooking!
